Trelawny SPT ltd an independent manufacturer of pneumatic tools and surface preparation equipment operating from its headquarters on the Sydenham Industrial Estate in Leamington Spa, have for over 50 years, been offering a wide range of equipment for the preparation of concrete, steel and stone to a variety of industries and applications. In the last few months the Trelawny team have been globe trotting to a number of trade shows to continue their forward momentum.

Shows in Qatar, South Africa, Libya and nearer to home in Germany generated an enormous amount of sales leads, leading to an increase in the Trelawny order book, the largest recorded for over five years.

The BAUMA construction fair in Munich Germany was one of the busiest shows Trelawny have experienced, receiving visitors to their stand from over 40 different countries. More remarkable is the fact that the show took place bang in the middle of the difficulties with the volcanic ash cloud.

Trelawny continues to seek distributors for its products in a number of ‘emerging’ markets which has been the key to its success despite the difficulties experienced in 2009.

Distributors are supported by personnel from the Leamington head quarters where over a third of its staff have travelled abroad in the last 2-3 years in support of sales, technical assistance and manufacturing related opportunities.

Commercial director for Trelawny: Rob Chapman acknowledges the strategy for export growth has been a real success for Trelawny and is cautiously optimistic that the success will continue.
